Men in marriages have different challenges
than their wives—and different inherent strengths.
Marty Friedman has discovered three keys to make marriage
work better for men -- simple, down-to-earth principles
that any man can use to navigate the twisting course of
a lasting marriage. Marty found these keys after struggling
for many years in his own marriage, facing practically
every kind of issue that a man can be tested by.
Marriage can be difficult and frustrating. Many men feel
that only women have the keys to understanding and working
with relationships and marriage, and they are willing to
face their marriage only when their spouses force them.
This abdication of power and commitment weakens men and
hurts their marriage. Marty has discovered that marriage
is worth a man's time and effort, because it can become
a source of tremendous joy and life-long growth.
Since 1976, Marty has instructed more than 2000 management
and communication seminars in organizations throughout
the U.S., and for 28 years he has practiced Siddha Yoga
Meditation. When his 20 year marriage ‘hit a wall’,
Marty realized that he was not fully integrating basic
communication principles that he had been teaching as a
management trainer. This realization led to a breakthrough
in how he experienced the meaning of marital commitment,
and the insights that followed changed how he looked at
a man’s role as a husband.
Researching the field of marriage, and combining what
he learned in his family life with his knowledge of relationship
and communication skills, he developed three practical,
clear principles to help men in marriage. Marty’s
seminars and individual consulting educate men by providing
effective tools for becoming more powerful and alive in
their marriages. He is the author of Straight Talk With
Men About Marriage: 3 Steps For A Greater Life With A Wife.
Marty Friedman lives with his wife, Ambuja, and two of
their three children in Palo Alto, California.
