Affirm caring men
Men and Marriage
Husbands, if your wives don’t understand you, buy
them a copy of “Straight Talk for men About Marriage:
What Men Need to Know About Marriage (And What Women Need
to Know About Men)” (Little Moose Pres, $15.95) by
Martin G. Friedman of Palo Alto.
Wives, do the same for your husbands.
Friedman passionately dissects the heart and lungs of
marriage and explores what it really means to be husband
and wife in a relationship. His heart-felt words are born
of experience.
“ If you see marriage for what it really is—a
testing ground to learn about yourself, grow as a human
being and expand your capacity for love—you most
likely will see that it’s worth holding on to,” Friedman
says.
“
You will have much less pain and have far more inner freedom
if you view marriage as a living, breathing organism that
needs frequent time, energy and spirit to breathe and flourish.”
As with Coleman’s book, there are a lot of “ah
ha!” moments. Friedman backs up his words with a
great deal of enthusiasm and positive energy. He’s
a man who believes in marriage, no doubt about it.
